This time zone converter shows one moment in many places at once: type when a call, webinar or deadline is in your time zone, add the cities of the people involved, and see the local time and date for each. Daylight saving time is applied for the date you choose, which is where most mistakes happen when converting by hand.

UTC Offsets of Common Time Zones

    Time zoneStandard timeDaylight saving time
    Pakistan (Asia/Karachi)UTC+05:00 (PKT)Not used
    India (Asia/Kolkata)UTC+05:30 (IST)Not used
    UAE (Asia/Dubai)UTC+04:00Not used
UK (Europe/London)UTC+00:00 (GMT)UTC+01:00 (BST), last Sunday of March to last Sunday of October
Central Europe (Europe/Berlin, Paris)UTC+01:00 (CET)UTC+02:00 (CEST), same dates as the UK
US Eastern (America/New_York)UTC−05:00 (EST)UTC−04:00 (EDT), second Sunday of March to first Sunday of November
US Pacific (America/Los_Angeles)UTC−08:00 (PST)UTC−07:00 (PDT), same dates as US Eastern
    Japan (Asia/Tokyo)UTC+09:00 (JST)Not used
Australia East (Australia/Sydney)UTC+10:00 (AEST)UTC+11:00 (AEDT), first Sunday of October to first Sunday of April

Because the US and Europe change their clocks on different dates, the gap between New York and London is 4 hours instead of 5 for a few weeks each March and autumn. The converter applies this automatically.

    UTC and GMT

UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) is the reference that time zones are measured from: Pakistan is UTC+5, New York UTC−5 in winter. GMT is often used to mean the same thing, and in everyday use the two show the same time, but strictly GMT is the time zone of the UK in winter, while UTC is a time standard that never changes for summer. For servers, logs and APIs, store times in UTC and convert to local time only for display; the Unix timestamp converter helps with that.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How do I convert a time to another time zone?

Enter the date and time, choose the time zone it is in (your own is selected at first), and every time zone in the list shows the same moment in its local time, with the date, so you can see when it is already the next day there. Add cities with the search box: type a city, a country such as Pakistan or an abbreviation such as PST.

Does it handle daylight saving time?

Yes. It uses the time zone database built into your browser, the same IANA database that phones and computers use, with each country's past and future daylight saving rules. Pick a date and the converter applies the rules in force on that date, so a meeting in July and one in December can differ by an hour.

What happens to times skipped or repeated by daylight saving changes?

When clocks jump forward, one hour does not exist (in New York, 02:00 to 02:59 on the second Sunday of March). The converter then shows the moment that clock time would mean on the new time, as calendar apps do, and tells you. When clocks go back, one hour happens twice; the converter shows the first and lets you switch to the second.

How do I find a good meeting time across time zones?

Add everyone's city, then look at the meeting planner: each row is one hour of the day in the main time zone, with the matching local time in every other city. Green cells are 9:00 to 17:00, yellow ones early morning or evening, grey ones night. Pick a row where most cells are green and click it to use that time.

Why does an abbreviation like IST or CST give the wrong zone?

Abbreviations are not unique: IST is used for India, Ireland and Israel, and CST for both US Central time and China. Search by city or country instead, or check the zone name shown under each city, such as Asia/Kolkata.

    Can I share the result?

Yes. The page address updates as you change the time and cities, so you can copy the link (or use Copy link) and send it; it opens with the same time and cities. Copy times copies the list as text for a chat or email.
