This Gumroad fee calculator shows what you keep from a sale. Enter your product price and choose whether the buyer came through your own profile or link, or through Gumroad Discover. It returns Gumroad's fee, payment processing, what you keep per sale and the totals for a month of sales.
How Gumroad Fees Are Calculated
On a $29 product sold through your own link, Gumroad's fee is 2.90 + 0.50 = $3.40 and card processing is 0.84 + 0.30 = $1.14. Fees total $4.54 and you keep $24.46. Sold through Discover, the fee is 30% of $29, which is $8.70, and you keep $20.30.

The fixed 80 cents on a direct sale takes a large share of a cheap product. On a $5 product, direct fees are 29% of the price, almost the same as Discover's 30%. On a $100 product they are 13.7%.
Where the Rates Come From
Gumroad's pricing page lists two rates: 10% + $0.50 per transaction for all sales through your profile or direct links, and 30% per transaction when new customers find and buy from you through the Discover marketplace. There is no monthly fee.
Gumroad's help centre lists card processing of 2.9% + $0.30 as separate from the 10% + $0.50. The calculator adds it to direct sales and treats the 30% Discover fee as the whole fee. Processing rates can differ for PayPal and for some countries, so the processing fields can be changed.
The pricing page also says that since January 1, 2025 Gumroad handles all tax obligations on your sales. Sales tax or VAT paid by the buyer is added on top of your price and does not come out of your payout.
Affiliate Sales
Gumroad's help centre says fees on an affiliate purchase are shared between you and the affiliate in proportion to the commission. With a 30% commission on a $29 direct sale, the $24.46 left after fees is split 70 / 30. You keep $17.12 and the affiliate receives $7.34.

Pricing to Keep a Set Amount
To keep $25 from a direct sale, the fixed fees are $0.80 and the percentage fees are 12.9%. The price is 25.80 ÷ 0.871 = $29.62. Enter the amount you want to keep in the last field and the calculator shows this price.
