This image cropper cuts a picture down to the part you want. Add a JPG, PNG or WebP file, drag the crop box over the area to keep, and download it. The box can be locked to a fixed shape such as 1:1 or 16:9, and the picture can be rotated or flipped first. The crop is taken from the original pixels, so nothing is resized, and the file is not uploaded.
How to Crop an Image
- Add the image: drag a JPG, PNG or WebP file into the box above or click to choose it.

A ratio is a shape, not a size. 1920 × 1080 and 1280 × 720 are both 16:9. Platforms change their recommended pixel sizes from time to time, so check the current guidance of the one you are posting to.
What the Cropper Keeps and Changes
- Resolution: The crop is cut from the original pixels at full size. A crop box covering half the width of a 4,000-pixel photo gives a 2,000-pixel image.
- Format: The output starts in the same format as the file you added, and you can change it. A cropped WebP stays a WebP unless you choose otherwise.
- Transparency: Kept in PNG and WebP. JPG fills transparent areas with white.
- Quality: PNG is lossless. JPG and WebP are compressed again at the quality you set.
- Edges: The crop never goes past the edge of the picture. If the box hangs over the edge, the download is trimmed to the picture.
Cropping, Resizing and Rotating
Cropping removes part of the picture and keeps the rest at the same scale. Resizing keeps the whole picture and changes its pixel dimensions. If an upload form asks for an exact size, such as 1080 × 1080, crop to the right shape here and then resize with the Image Resizer. How do I crop to an exact size in pixels?
The output size is shown under the settings as you move the box. For an exact figure, crop to the right ratio and then resize the result to the pixel size you need.
