This YouTube banner resizer turns an image into channel art at YouTube's recommended 2560 × 1440 pixels and keeps the file under the 6 MB limit. The preview marks the two areas that matter: the wide strip computers show, and the smaller safe area in the middle that every device shows, including phones. Move the picture until your name, logo or text sits inside the safe area, then download.

What Each Device Shows
- TV: the whole 2560 × 1440 image, behind the channel page.
- Computer: a wide strip across the middle, marked with the dashed outline in the preview.
- Phone: only about the safe area, marked in green. Anything outside it may not be seen by most of your visitors.
How to Make a YouTube Banner That Fits
- Add a wide image, such as a landscape photo or a design made at 16:9.
- Crop to fill and drag so the main subject is in the green safe area.
- Or fit it on a plain or blurred background when the image must be shown whole, such as a logo.
- Add your channel name afterwards with Add Text to Image, placing it in the centre so it stays inside the safe area.
- Upload in YouTube Studio under Customisation, Branding, Banner image.

Frequently Asked Questions
What size is a YouTube banner?
YouTube recommends 2560 × 1440 pixels, 16:9, and accepts at least 2048 × 1152. The file must be 6 MB or smaller.
What is the YouTube banner safe area?
The middle strip that is shown on every device: 1235 × 338 pixels on a 2048 × 1152 banner, which is about 1546 × 423 on a 2560 × 1440 one. Put your channel name, logo and any text inside it.
Why is my YouTube banner cut off?
Each device shows a different part. TVs show the whole 16:9 image, computers show a wide strip across the middle, and phones show only the central safe area. That is expected; design for the safe area and let the rest be background.
Can I make a banner from a normal photo?
Yes. Choose Crop to fill and drag the photo so the important part sits in the safe area. A wide landscape photo works best, because only a strip of it is visible on computers and phones.
Why does YouTube reject my banner?
Usually because it is smaller than 2048 × 1152 or larger than 6 MB. This tool always exports 2560 × 1440 and lowers the JPG quality if needed to stay under 6 MB.
Is my image uploaded?
No. The banner is made in your browser and the image never leaves your device.
