Bill Calculator by DISCO

All 10 ex-WAPDA DISCOs bill off the same NEPRA-notified tariff — pick yours below for a calculator pre-labelled with your company and coverage area.

LESCO Rates Are the Same NEPRA Schedule as Every Other Ex-WAPDA DISCO

LESCO (Lahore Electric Supply Company) doesn't set its own tariff — NEPRA notifies a single uniform schedule that applies identically across all 10 ex-WAPDA distribution companies (LESCO, IESCO, FESCO, GEPCO, MEPCO, HESCO, SEPCO, PESCO, QESCO, TESCO). K-Electric, which serves Karachi separately, is the one exception with its own tariff. So a Lahore household and an Islamabad household in the same category pay exactly the same per-unit rate — this calculator uses that official NEPRA-notified schedule.

Energy Charge = Total Units × rate of the matching slab (not incremental)

The mechanic worth understanding is that residential tariffs are non-telescopic: unlike a progressive/slab-wise system where only the units above a threshold cost more, LESCO bills your entire month's consumption at the rate of whichever slab your total falls into. For an Unprotected consumer on a 1 kW connection, 300 units at Rs 33.10/unit comes to roughly Rs 12,285 total (energy + fixed charge + duty + GST) — but 301 units, crossing into the next slab at Rs 36.46/unit, jumps to roughly Rs 13,592.

How Protected / Unprotected / Lifeline Status Works

This isn't something you choose, and it isn't decided by a single month's reading. Under the current tariff:

  • Lifeline: 12-month average consumption ≤100 units — the lowest rates (Rs 3.95–7.74/unit), exempt from fixed charges, but no slab benefit if you exceed 50 units in a month.
  • Protected: 6-month average consumption ≤200 units — subsidised rates (Rs 10.54–13.01/unit) with the benefit of one previous slab.
  • Unprotected: everyone else — full tariff rates from Rs 22.44/unit up to Rs 47.20/unit above 700 units.

LESCO tracks your consumption history and prints your assigned category directly on your bill — this calculator can't work that out for you, so select whichever category actually appears on your bill.

Reading the Non-Energy Lines on a LESCO Bill

Past the energy charge, a LESCO bill stacks five more line items before you reach the total:

Line itemWhat determines it
Fixed / Customer ChargePer-kW of sanctioned load for residential and kW-based commercial/industrial tariffs (Time-of-Use uses half the load; larger commercial/industrial uses a quarter of load or actual peak demand, whichever is higher); a flat per-consumer amount for the smaller categories instead.
FPAActual vs. assumed fuel cost for the month, roughly two months behind — goes negative (a credit) when fuel got cheaper than planned.
QTAA separate capacity/O&M true-up, revised once a quarter rather than monthly.
Electricity DutyProvincial levy on the subtotal, around 1.5% — the exact figure is printed on your bill.
GSTFederal 18% sales tax on the same subtotal.
TV FeeFlat PTV licence charge, usually Rs 35, bundled into most domestic connections.

⚠️ Treat this as a planning estimate, not your official bill. These five figures move monthly or quarterly — pull the exact numbers off your latest LESCO bill and plug them into "Customize" above for a closer match.

Using the Calculator in Four Steps

No sign-up and no bill upload — the LESCO calculator above runs on four inputs, entirely in your browser.

  • Category: match whatever is printed on your bill — Lifeline, Protected, Unprotected, Time-of-Use, Commercial, Industrial or Agriculture.
  • Units consumed: the kWh reading from your latest bill.
  • FPA: copy the Fuel Price Adjustment line from your bill; it can be a negative number.
  • Customize (optional): override GST, Electricity Duty, QTA or TV Fee if your bill's figures differ from the defaults above.

The Slab Cliff in Numbers — Protected vs Unprotected

Estimated total bill (1 kW sanctioned load, single phase, default duty/GST, FPA and TV fee excluded) at each unit level:

UnitsProtected RateProtected BillUnprotected RateUnprotected Bill

200Rs 13.01Rs 3,467.89Rs 28.91Rs 7,267.99
300Rs 13.01*Rs 5,022.59*Rs 33.10Rs 12,284.60
301Rs 13.01*Rs 5,038.13*Rs 36.46Rs 13,592.48
500Rs 13.01*Rs 8,131.97*Rs 38.95Rs 23,870.13
700Rs 13.01*Rs 11,241.36*Rs 41.85Rs 35,814.15

*The Protected tariff table only defines slabs up to 200 units — a real Protected consumer averaging over 200 units for 6 months would be reclassified as Unprotected, so these rows are illustrative of the rate structure, not a realistic bill for that consumer. Notice the Unprotected jump from 300→301 units: about Rs 1,308 for one extra unit, purely from the slab-cliff mechanic. Figures verified against this page's own calculator, which excludes TV fee (Rs 0) by default — add it in "Customize" if your bill shows one.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does LESCO use different tariff rates than other DISCOs like IESCO or FESCO?

No. NEPRA notifies a single uniform schedule for all 10 ex-WAPDA DISCOs — LESCO, IESCO, FESCO, GEPCO, MEPCO, HESCO, SEPCO, PESCO, QESCO and TESCO all charge the same per-unit rates. Only K-Electric (Karachi) runs a separate tariff.

Why did my LESCO bill jump so much for barely more units?

Pakistani residential tariffs are non-telescopic — the entire month's consumption is billed at the rate of whichever slab your total falls into, not just the units above a threshold. Crossing 300 units by even 1 unit re-rates the whole bill to the next slab's rate.

How is my Protected or Unprotected status decided?

It's based on your consumption history (6-month average for Protected, 12-month average for Lifeline), tracked by LESCO — not by this month's units alone. Pick whichever category is printed on your actual bill.

What is FPA and why is it sometimes negative?

FPA (Fuel Price Adjustment) is the monthly difference between actual and assumed fuel cost, charged or credited per unit. It's negative when actual fuel costs come in lower than assumed — check your last bill for the current figure.

Why is there a fixed charge even when I use little electricity?

The fixed charge covers connection maintenance and is billed per kW of sanctioned load (or a flat per-consumer fee for some categories) regardless of consumption — except Lifeline consumers, who are exempt but pay a minimum monthly charge instead.

Base tariff data sourced from NEPRA's official Tariff Guide (S.R.O 279(I)/2026, February 2026), notified uniformly for all ex-WAPDA DISCOs including LESCO. FPA/QTA/GST/Electricity Duty change monthly or quarterly — verify against your own bill before making financial decisions.
