Where the Rates Come From

How do I calculate my MEPCO bill?
Multiply the units by the slab rate, add the fixed charge for your sanctioned load, add 18% GST on those two, then add the FPA. For a household with 3 kW sanctioned load that used 450 units in a summer month, that gives Rs 22,452.45 before FPA.

Why is my MEPCO fixed charge so high?
Under the 2026 tariff, unprotected consumers pay a fixed charge per kW of sanctioned load that rises with the slab: Rs 500 per kW in the 401–500 slab. With 3 kW that is Rs 1,500 a month before GST, even before the energy charge.
Are MEPCO rates different from other DISCOs?
No. NEPRA's tariff for the ten ex-WAPDA distribution companies is the same for each of them. K-Electric in Karachi has its own tariff and is not covered here.
